In December, just before leaving for South America, Hawaii go hit with a pretty big swell. Large enough to make the world-famous PEAHI break to go off. I got to see a few good runs, but like always Laird took the biggest, meanest wave and made it look like a kids playground. Laird may be the only guy who actually surfs these monster waves, rather than just surviving them.
